Sanchez stayed, Ozil left in January

According to the British press, Arsenal are considering the intention of selling midfielder Mesut Ozil in January 2018.

At the end of the season, both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have expired contracts with Emirates. Up until now, the two have yet to sign a new contract with Arsenal. That pushes the Gunners to the risk of losing two of their stars under Bosman's law.

According to SportMail, Arsenal has a concrete plan to deal with these two cases. In particular, Wenger coached Alexis Sanchez to stay up until the end of the season, while accepting the risk of losing the Chilean star in the form of free transfer.

But the case of Mesut Ozil is different. By not wanting to lose two Bosman stars, the Gunners are considering selling the German midfielder when the transfer window opens again in January.

Currently, Ozil is treating a knee injury. In five matches where the German midfielder did not play, Arsenal had four wins. The Gunners' good performance even without Ozil was the reason Wenger was not keen on keeping the German midfielder at bay until the end of the season.

In addition, Wenger is in possession of many players who can replace Mesut Ozil's role as Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud or even Aaron Ramsey. Not to mention, midfielder Jack Wilshere is also showing good performance after coming back from injury.

Ozil is expected to return after the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. However, the possibility of relegation in the former Real Madrid star's starting lineup remains open.

At the present time, there are quite a few teams that are paying special attention to Mesut Ozil. Which, notably Inter Milan. No one else, the Inter boss himself, Thohir has admitted his intention to bring Ozil to Giuseppe Meazza in January.
