Throwing pizza in Sir Alex's face

Throwing pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson in the Arsenal and Man Utd tunnel in 2004 finally acknowledged.

No one else, it was Cesc Fabregas. British media have long suspected the midfielder was "the culprit" of throwing pizza at Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson in the Old Trafford tunnel.

In the 2004 game, Man Utd beat Arsenal 2-0 in a brutal match, ending a series of 49 consecutive unbeaten Gunners in the Premier League. Tense air on the stadium spread into the tunnel after the game and the two sides have collided with each other.

Notably, Sir Alex was thrown by a Arsenal player near the pizza. This led the British media to describe the scuffle as "buffet battle".

After 13 years, Cesc Fabregas finally acknowledged he is the man who threw Sir Alex. On Sky One's A League Of Their Own, the Spanish midfielder confessed to this with host James Corden.

James Corden asked, "Let's just say it once. Are you the culprit of pizza throwing? "

"Right". Fabregas replied.

"I heard the noise (in the tunnel) and I thought what was going on? I grabbed the pizza nearby and stepped out, and then I saw Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand, Martin Keown ... everyone was pushing each other. "

"I would like to join but I do not know how to do it, then I throw the cake away. Unfortunately, it hit a paralyzed person. "

Besides, Fabregas also confirmed the pizza had hit Sir Alex's face but he did not deliberately do that. The midfielder added: "I'm sorry Sir Alex, I really do not intend to do so."
